Drum Together

Our rhythm-based group wellbeing program supporting regulation, belonging, connection and participation.

Drum Together is our participant-facing rhythm, movement and wellbeing program developed by Growing Well Together.

It uses drumming, rhythm games, movement, call-and-response, shared sound, creative participation and guided reflection to help groups build connection, confidence, regulation, listening, turn-taking and shared participation. The drumming is the entry point; the deeper purpose is relationship-building, group connection, participation, regulation, belonging and educator confidence.

The Drum Together Program has been refined over several years of real-world practice, drawing on multiple program iterations and many years of group music facilitation. Across its development, it has consistently supported children’s engagement, confidence, connection, group participation and regulation through shared rhythm, movement and creative group experiences.

‍ ‍What is Drum Together?

The Drum Together program brings children and communities together through rhythm, movement and shared group experiences.

Sessions are structured, but responsive. Trained facilitators use a mix of rhythm, movement, games, reflection and group process to support the live needs of the group.

Rather than focusing only on individual behaviour, Drum Together pays attention to the energy of the whole group and how the group can help the group.

Who is it for?

Drum Together delivery options can be adapted to suit a range of education, care and community settings, including early learning centres, preschools, primary schools, OSHC services, community organisations, family support programs and regional wellbeing initiatives.

Drum Together supports groups seeking to strengthen belonging, participation, regulation, confidence, social connection and shared positive experiences.

Through rhythm, movement and group interaction, participants are supported to engage at their own level, contribute to the group and experience connection in an inclusive, structured and positive way.
